Welcome! We’re Patience and Frank Lee, and we founded the Samani Company. (Samani is the Swahili word for furniture.) We started with a mission–to transform packaging and transportation. We once witnessed two men struggling to move an uncovered queen size mattress through an apartment doorway in the freezing rain. The thought of a better way to assist them is what stirred us.

We asked the question, can there be a fabric-based product that could protect the mattress, secure it comfortably and give the movers leverage when they navigate through the doorway?

That was our "Aha moment.”

After months of brainstorming and research, we sketched our first design, then connected with Philadelphia’s Made Institute to develop our prototype. It took two more years to finalize a functional prototype, and in December 2019 we filed for a provisional patent to protect our product’s unique design.

By 2022, Samani had developed an additional design called the Samani Container, geared towards general moving and storage needs, with a second patent filed to protect this innovation. Since then, we’ve been building relationships across industries, from automotive to consumer goods, and continue to look for and find new applications for our products, for particle uses of our containers, ensuring we meet the evolving needs of our customers—you.
